FNYCRR Award: Best Duck Fat Candy Apple

When Chef Bernard LeToquiuieuie stepped down as head chef of Cardboard (E 19th St.) to open this tiny downtown location that focuses specifically on duck fat infused candy apples, he had plenty of naysayers. Seems that LeToquiuieuie is having the last laugh as droves line up around the block to get a taste of these slightly sweet, slightly savory creations on a stick at Fat. By far our favorite of the downtown bunch. Single apples start at just $9 (no stick), but prices go up to $18 for a double apple with bits of dehydrated foie gras that are twice dunked in a blend of chicken neck fat and truffle oil.
